CITY OF MILFORD        
SPRING CLEANUP
APRIL 28-29, 2010

In an effort to keep our town clean, the City of Milford will once again be sponsoring a cleanup day for the RESIDENTS of the city.  Waste from nonresidents and commercial users is not permitted.  There will be no Swap Days prior to the designated clean up days.  Please do not place any materials on the curb prior to April 27th.  Any material placed on the curb prior to April 27th will not be picked up during clean up days.  All material that is not picked up during cleanup days must be removed from the curb by Friday, April 30th and disposed of properly.

All items to be picked up must be at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on April 28.  Recyclable items, including paper and cardboard, will not be picked up.  Items to be picked up must be on the curb in a clear bag or some type of open container.  Bags and containers may not exceed 40 lbs in weight.  Once the clean up crew has passed your residence they will not return.

Yard Waste, Recyclables and Oil will not be picked up.  These items must be taken to the City Maintenance Facility located at 17th St & M Ave. 

Lumber up to 3 feet in length will be picked up. 

The following items will be picked up for a nominal fee.  Tags must be obtained from the Clerk’s office and placed on the item(s) to be picked up.  If a tag is not attached, the item will not be picked up.

The following items will be taken if they are broken down in multiple pieces:  Patio Swings, Garage Doors, Picnic Tables, Sliding Patio Doors, Shower Tub Combos (Fiberglass)

THE CITY CANNOT PICK UP TOXIC WASTE!!!
Batteries, Paint, Paint Thinner, Household Chemicals, Herbicides, Pesticides, Propane tanks, and Automotive Fluids will not be picked up.  THESE ITEMS MUST BE DISPOSED OF THROUGH PROPER CHANNELS.  The Dickinson County Landfill Commission has begun operating a toxic waste collection center.  The collection center is housed at the Commissions green waste site just east of Milford.  Please call the Dickinson County Conservation Board at (712) 338-4786 for more information.  No railroad ties will be picked up.
